Tidbits from Solstice

here is the background on my blog that fireraven mentions at the beginning of my story.

Most of the time Solstice is playful in her own mind but other people do not necessarily know how to take her. Sarcasm is the most fluid language she speaks and she has honed skills in making people look like idiots. most of the time she lets people do the talking in anger and lets that person making all the noise look stupid. She kills and kills and kills without mercy or scruples if you are in front of her she will attack until you are no longer there. (no making nice on bloodlines the motto is V***V bite harder or log off V***V ). She has a few friends that she will play around with but they do not fill the black void she has in her life. thus the heavy metal music that keeps the savage beast in her from surfacing for others to see out in the open. It runs like the devil and is uninhibited and not a side of herself she should share with anyone.
That having been said there are times she needs to "soothe the savage soul" and she does it with music that is more mellow. She calms and slows down and sometimes sleeps as though she has not slept in years. In just a few more years and she will have to go to warmer climates because of her old bones. Sometimes she sleeps so soundly she cannot be awakened and is vulnerable to all types of attackers. OL Solstice has made many a enemy and cannot take the chance of attack so she will go to a fellow clansmen's den and sneak into it after they are all asleep, she usually prefers to sleep curled up on the floor somewhere close to the master of that clan's coffin that way when he awakes he can accept her into his den and the others will not dare attack. Thankfully the last time she did this at Shadowhearts he recognized her and laid her to rest in a coffin and let her sleep for days but he knows he cannot tame her just let her rest peacefully and maybe one day she will give him some of the attention he requires of his females.

Solstice being a loner and a rogue rarely goes into her den. It is abandoned a great part of the time. Painfully neglected and besides she just doesn't want to deal with having to be tied down to a home. Her children grown except for the youngest who came of age last year. No more big parties with clan coming to enjoy the company of each other and brag of their victories on the killing field.

Solstice being a loner and a rogue rarely lets her heart feel anything. It is empty most of the time. Painfully neglected and besides she just doesn't want to deal with being tied down. No big swells of emotions for the company of others. The only thing she knows is she is a killing machine out on the hunt. Feisty on the hunt and when she is feeling savage she could take down much more powerful vamps than herself. Her heart races so fast the music cannot keep up. She has to beware of this feeling it could be the weakness that takes her down to where she cannot recover.

To my readers I love everyone of you and would like to thank you for reading my story. It will be rewritten and have meat added to the bones, what you are getting here are the ramblings that go through my mind. combibus the great warrior and general of the outworld armies during the immortal wars. combibus was the second immortal to be born he was concieved out of spite and was treated as a lesser deserving immortal than his half brother bajif ishtar. scorned by the adults because of the circumstances he could not control he was quite the loner. he would play by himself and spending so much time outside he was self educated very well in nature and the natural order of the universe, despite that these rules apparently did not apply to him.. bajif would kill small animals and when combibus picked them up to see if they were dead bajif would tell his father.. see he is killing animals helpless animals that have done no harm to him.

bajif was favored among the adults as the first born joy of the group. see when bajif was concieved there were the origginal 4 immortals two men two women and when bajif was concieved his mother ________ was highly regarded by the men and they doted on her. Sanera the other female was feeling left out and as time went on felt more and more outcast so she convinced her mate that the father of bajif would be regarded more highly than he would and if he was no longer around it would solve the problem. her mate killed bajifs dad . then the grief stricken mother and the guilt filled man concieved combibus. during her pregnancy she learned of the betrayal of Sanera and out of spite flaunted her pregnancy to her, but deep inside she could not get over the feelings she now harbored about the pregnancy since she had laid with the man who killed her mate the father of her beloved bajif .

now killing of this immortal created the race of the gods, zeus poseidon and ???? and wars would break out from time to time between the different pantheons of gods and sometimes the immortals were dragged into it. but the greatest battle of all time was the immortal wars between the immortal bajif ishtar and his brother combibus. different pantheons would take sides in this battle and fight to share in the glory but also suffered the consequences of their actions for their insolence.

the bar was dark small with a few stray rays of sunlight coming in between the cracks of a few hastily placed boards that served as a patch over the last barroom brawl. Several men were in the bar all scattered across the back wall of the bar sitting at different tables but sharing tales of their latest and greatest exploits. Combibus was sitting in the corner sipping on whiskey and half listening to the conversation going on amongst the men in the bar. Keeping an eye on the door and another eye on the barmaid moving about cleaning and serving up beer and whiskey for the men. One of the men was telling of his latest fight with the god artemis. she was using her arrows to try and keep him at bay and when he advanced on her several of her siblings came to her aid. One of these days she would slip up while hunting and he would rid this world of her and her brother would have to be taken care of as well to bring about an end to her feuding with this gentleman.
combibus just smiled as he was thinking about the battle this immortal was in for. unless he had someone help him he would surely lose to her again and again and again. the bar maid came up to combibus to see if he was ready for another drink breaking his thoughts, this barmaid was not beautiful but she was pretty and could hold her own with this crowd of men. Once in a great while combibus would seek the comfort of her company for the evening and never once has he noticed the way she would cater to his every need and neglect the others to make sure he had everything he needed.
as usual one of the men would start to compare the latest feud skirmish or battle with his own tales. this group of men kept each other in check... they could brag all they wanted but if anyone ever got out of line and tried to start a fight the others would put him in his place telling him to take it to the streets but in here all are allowed to brag and then must hear the other side of the story. many a battle strategy has been brought to light with these immortals all speaking of the downfalls and mistakes they made while fighting. immortals may be stronger than the gods and demi gods but when fighting alone like they usually did they could be tricked and overpowered by a group of gods.
